More than 14,000 of Burlington's 18,002 eligible voters showed up during Early Voting, on Election Day, or via vote-by-mail in the 2024 General Election, and the town's preliminary results largely align with the state's overall trend, according to the Town Clerk's office.

As of 10:00 on Election Night, 78.9% of eligible voters' ballots had been counted. In the presidential election, 57% of votes cast were for Harris and Walz on the Democratic ticket, while 39% were for the Republican ticket featuring Trump and Vance. (The state has been called for Harris by around 61%, according to the latest estimates.) The same trend continued for the contested U.S. Senator race, with Democratic incumbent Elizabeth Warren taking 53% of Burlington's vote and her opponent, John Deaton, taking 44%; the statewide race was about 60-40 in favor of Warren.

Four of the five ballot questions have been called for the state:

Question 1: Authorize the State Auditor to Audit the Legislature - YES

Question 2: Remove MCAS Tests as a High School Graduation Requirement - YES

Question 3: Allow Transportation Network Drivers to Unionize - NOT YET CALLED (Currently 54-46 in favor, as of 6:00 AM on November 6, 2024)

Question 4: Legalize Psychedelic Substances - NO

Question 5: Increase Minimum Wage for Tipped Employees - NO

Burlington's voting on the ballot measures also mirrored state results, with the possible exception of Question 3, which 49% of Burlington voters opposed. Final state results are expected later today. Presential results are still coming in, but the Associated Press has called this race in favor of Trump/Vance.
