Red Devils Celebrate Big Wins on the Track, Diamond, and Field

It was a busy weekend for BHS athletics, with teams racking up some key wins — and a few hard-fought losses.

Girls’ Track cruised past Watertown in a dominant 112–24 win Thursday, improving to 2–1 on the season. The team looks ahead to a matchup against Wakefield on Tuesday.

On Friday, girls' tennis fell 4–1 to Belmont, with doubles team Phoenix Mahoney and Eesha Soni picking up the lone win for the Devils. Baseball struggled in a tough 13–2 loss to Wilmington, but softball came back strong with a 19–8 win over Winchester.

Boys’ lacrosse bounced back to .500 with a 19–2 win over rival Woburn. Two major games await them this week. Girls’ lacrosse also took care of business, beating Woburn 13–4.

The softball team stayed hot into Sunday, edging Woburn 13–12 in a back-and-forth thriller. Alyssa Matarazzo got stronger with each inning, and Maddy King sealed the win with a walk-off hit.

Monday's slate includes Unified Coed Basketball at Stoneham, Boys’ Volleyball at home against Billerica (JV at 4:00, Varsity at 5:30), and tennis showdowns against Woburn — girls hosting at Rahanis, and boys heading up Winn Street. And, varsity and JV softball are set to take on Belmont at 4:15, weather permitting.
