Golf Earns First Win of the Season; Football Falls to Woburn Friday
Golf earns its first win of the season and girls' volleyball keeps rolling as Burlington wraps a busy Friday and looks ahead to a full week.
Boys' golf picked up their first win of the season on Friday, edging Melrose 37–35. Luke Quimby and Aiden Shanahan were the standouts, with Quimby shooting a 39 and Shanahan getting the team over the edge with a 7-2 win.
Girls' volleyball went 2–1 at Belmont. JV won in straight sets to improve to 4–1, and varsity took a 3–0 victory to move to 3–2. Lexie Carmody was named player of the match, finishing with 9 service points, 2 assists, 18 digs, and 22 serve receives. Freshman fell in straight sets, dropping to 1–4.
Girls' soccer fell to Tewksbury Friday, with varsity losing 5–1 and JV dropping their game 8–0. Meanwhile, field hockey lost to Belmont 7–0 at the varsity level, with JV falling 5–0, and boys' freshman soccer lost to Melrose 5–1.
Boys' football fell to Woburn 40–28 Friday night.
