Also, don't forget to return your nomination papers; sculpture update
Hello, and Happy Thursday!
📜 Tomorrow is the last day to return your nomination papers for the April 1, 2023, election. For town-wide seats, you’ll need 50 signatures from registered voters in town, and for Town Meeting you’ll need 10 from voters in your precinct. Don’t forget to grab those signatures and return your papers by 1:00 PM tomorrow!
🧸 Coldwell Banker Realty is teaming up with HELPIS to hold a teddy bear drive. The goal is for children facing a major illness or hardship to have some comfort this Valentine’s Day. Today is the last day of this drive, and they are only 148 teddy bears away from their 1,000-bear goal! You can help by dropping off a teddy bear to Coldwell Banker at 202 Cambridge Street next to True North, or by sending a contribution via Venmo to @LorieGlantz. You can also donate directly to HELPIS. Let’s help them reach their goal and help children in tough situations!
💓 Update on Follow Your Heart sculpture: On the evening of February 2, the Sculpture Park Committee was notified that this sculpture, the only one purchased by Burlington with funds allocated by Town Meeting, was broken off at the waist and the top part was broken into three different pieces. Those pieces were returned to sculptor Mark Wholey, as will be the bottom part, and he will repair and reinforce the work of art. No branches or other obvious causes of this damage were found in the area, and according to Wholey, it’s unlikely the damage was accidental. There is a police detective assigned to investigate the incident, and the town is looking into installing cameras in the area. An insurance claim is also being filed.
The idealist in me hopes the damage was due to some environmental fluke. Whatever the cause, though, the Sculpture Park brings joy to many Burlington residents, and hopefully this kind of thing never happens again.

I don’t have the boys’ score yet, but girls shut out Stoneham last night at Hockey Night. The final score was 3-0.
There’s nothing on the sports calendar today. Tomorrow we play Wakefield in basketball.
I’ll leave it there for now. Have a great day!
