Burlington Buzz Plans First Annual Community Cleanup — Residents Invited to Help Shape the Event
Now seeking volunteers, location nominations, and sponsors for April 11 town-wide effort.
Burlington Buzz, in partnership with Scouts and Burlington Conservation, is inviting residents, businesses, and community groups to take part in its first annual Community Cleanup, planned for Saturday, April 11, 2026 (rain date: April 12).
The event will bring neighbors together for a few hours of hands-on cleanup at one or more reader-nominated locations in town, followed by a community celebration to thank participants for their efforts.
But before gloves and trash bags come out, organizers are asking the community to help shape the day.
Community-Driven Planning
Through the online interest form, residents can:
- Express interest in volunteering
- Nominate cleanup locations
- Offer sponsorship support
The goal is to identify the areas of Burlington that could most benefit from collective care — whether that’s parks, trails, roadside corridors, or other public spaces.
By gathering input early, organizers hope to design an event that reflects both community priorities and volunteer capacity.
More Than a Cleanup
While the environmental impact is central, the event is also designed as a moment of connection.
Following the cleanup, participants will be invited to a casual post-event celebration — an opportunity to:
- Thank volunteers
- Highlight partner organizations
- Bring families together
- Celebrate collective impact
Burlington Buzz is collaborating with local partners, including Scouts and conservation leaders, to coordinate logistics, supplies, and site leadership.
Sponsors & Community Partners Welcome
Local businesses and families are also invited to support the event through sponsorships, which may include:
- Cleanup supplies (bags, gloves, grabbers)
- Water and refreshments
- Volunteer giveaways
- Celebration support (entertainment, activities, etc.)
Sponsors will be recognized as community partners in making the event possible.
How to Get Involved
Residents interested in volunteering, nominating a site, or sponsoring the event can complete the interest form; organizers will follow up with next steps, location assignments, and day-of details as planning progresses.
