Tennis Sweeps Wakefield, Track Finishes Strong as Red Devils Prepare for a Busy Thursday

Burlington teams closed out Wednesday with some key victories.

Boys’ Tennis pulled out a 3–2 win over Wakefield, improving the team’s record to 9–5. Victories came from Ridhaan Ayyagari, Rohan Parikh, and the doubles team of Krish Soni & Abhay Jhumat.

Girls’ Tennis matched the boys' performance, also winning 3–2 over Wakefield. Mason Alongi and Sonali Patel earned wins in singles play, while the doubles team of Anjali Patel & Phoenix Mahoney won their match.

In track & field, the boys capped off their regular season with a rare doubleheader. Burlington dominated Stoneham 104–32 but came up just short against Wakefield, 61–75. The Red Devils finish the season at 4–1 and now turn their focus to State Relays this Saturday in Pembroke. (Girls’ results pending.)

Volleyball faced a tough Arlington squad, with JV falling 0–2 and Varsity dropping their match 0–3.

Thursday, May 16 Schedule:

  • Baseball vs. Wilmington – 3:30 PM; JV at Wildwood Park, Varsity on the newly-completed home field at Francis Wyman Elementary
  • Tennis vs. Wilmington – Girls host at Rahanis at 4:00; Boys travel to Wilmington for a 4:15 first serve
  • Volleyball vs. Lexington at BHS – JV at 4:00; Varsity at 5:30
  • Varsity Softball vs. Wilmington – 4:15 at Marvin Field
