Red Devils Open Strong Across Multiple Programs
Burlington spring sports are off to a fast start — girls' lacrosse wins its opener, boys' volleyball rolls to 2-0, and more are in store for this afternoon.
Burlington's spring sports season is underway, and the early returns are encouraging.
Girls' varsity lacrosse opened its season Monday with a 10–8 win over Weston, moving to 1–0. The Red Devils edged out the Wildcats in what is sure to be a competitive Middlesex League season ahead.
Boys' volleyball started their season with two decisive wins. The Red Devils opened the season March 26 on the road against Medford, with varsity taking a 3–0 sweep to go 1–0; Asa Gans earned Player of the Match honors. JV dropped a 2–0 decision to open at 0–1. A day later, Burlington hosted Billerica for its home opener — varsity followed up with a 3–1 victory to move to 2–0, with Aiden McCollem named Player of the Match, while JV bounced back with a 2–0 win to even its record at 1–1 and Daniel Seltser earning the nod.
The softball team also played Monday, though results had not yet been posted at press time.
