Red Devils Open Fall Slate With Mixed Results

Burlington teams were back in action on Tuesday with season openers across multiple sports.

The girls' volleyball team opened at home against Reading. Freshman and JV each dropped their matches 0-2, while varsity battled back from an 0-2 hole to force a fifth set before falling 3-2. A gritty effort all around, with Tessa McCann earning Player of the Match honors.

Red Devils golf fell 48-24 to Lexington at the Lexington Golf Club. Burlington junior James Gordon picked up the team’s lone win.

The first field hockey game of the season ended in a 4-0 loss to Reading, but the Red Devils made strong adjustments in the second half.

In freshman soccer, the boys stormed out to a 5-0 win over Reading, while the girls played to a 4-4 draw.
