Burlington Teams Tested Across Baseball, Tennis, and Volleyball in Monday Afternoon Action

Burlington’s spring teams battled through a challenging Monday schedule, with several squads facing strong competition as they look to build momentum.

Baseball opened its home schedule with a hard-fought 9–4 loss to Reading. The Red Devils showed flashes offensively but couldn’t overcome a strong outing from their opponent. They’ll look to bounce back on the road against Lexington later this week.

On the courts, both boys’ and girls’ tennis fell 5–0 to Lexington. Despite the sweep, the Devils will have a quick turnaround opportunity to reset when they take on Melrose on Wednesday.

Boys’ volleyball delivered one of the most competitive matches of the day against Winchester. The JV squad dropped their matches 3–0, while varsity battled with energy and grit before falling 3–1 in a tightly contested match that featured multiple close sets. The team now sits at 3–2 and will look ahead to matches against Wakefield and Medford later this week.
