Burlington Teams Tested Across Baseball, Tennis, and Volleyball in Monday Afternoon Action
Burlington teams battled through a competitive slate in baseball, tennis, and volleyball as the spring season continued to ramp up this week.
Burlingtonâs spring teams battled through a challenging Monday schedule, with several squads facing strong competition as they look to build momentum.
Baseball opened its home schedule with a hard-fought 9â4 loss to Reading. The Red Devils showed flashes offensively but couldnât overcome a strong outing from their opponent. Theyâll look to bounce back on the road against Lexington later this week.
On the courts, both boysâ and girlsâ tennis fell 5â0 to Lexington. Despite the sweep, the Devils will have a quick turnaround opportunity to reset when they take on Melrose on Wednesday.
Boysâ volleyball delivered one of the most competitive matches of the day against Winchester. The JV squad dropped their matches 3â0, while varsity battled with energy and grit before falling 3â1 in a tightly contested match that featured multiple close sets. The team now sits at 3â2 and will look ahead to matches against Wakefield and Medford later this week.
