Burlington Teams Begin Playoff Bids in a Packed Afternoon
Four Burlington teams start their post-season in the 3:00 hour this afternoon.
The first playoff games will be held today for four of Burlington's six teams that have progressed to the postseason.
The baseball team earned a #30 seed and takes on #35 Masconomet at home at 3:00; the game will take place at Francis Wyman field.
Softball landed at #37 in the rankings. They'll play a preliminary round game at #28 Woburn today, also in the 3:00 hour.
The tennis teams both play their Round of 32 games this afternoon, starting just 45 minutes apart. The #15 boys' team will take on #18 Northampton at 3:30 at Rahanis Park in their Round of 32 game; the girls, ranked #23, play at #10 Duxbury at 3:45.
The preliminary brackets were released for lacrosse as well. The boys landed at #10, the best seed for a Red Devils team this spring, and will host #23 Foxborough for their Round of 32 game. The#18 girls' team will face #15 Marshfield in an away game.
The lacrosse dates and times have not yet been announced, but the Buzz will keep you updated with scores and schedules as the playoffs progress.
