Burlington Caps Homecoming Weekend with Football Win, Volleyball Sweep
Red Devils show strong performances across several sports Friday and Saturday
It was a winning Homecoming weekend for Burlington athletics, as the Red Devilsâ teams turned in big performances in football, volleyball, and soccer action.
The football team defeated Watertown 29â7 in their Breast Cancer Awareness / Homecoming game, maintaining their undefeated record and #4 ranking in the division.
Volleyball kept rolling with a sweep of Stoneham: JV won 2â1, improving to 15â5, and Varsity swept 3â0, pushing their record to 16â4. Hazel Yiu earned Player of the Match honors.
Girlsâ soccer tied Boston Latin School 2â2, bringing their record to 8â6â2, while boysâ varsity soccer fell 4â0 to Watertown on Saturday; their record is now 2-14-1.
State tournament brackets start dropping Tuesday, with nearly every Burlington team in contention for postseason play.
