Boys' Lacrosse, Baseball Highlight Busy Vacation Week for Burlington Athletics
Boys' lacrosse topped Swampscott and baseball split against Wilmington and Cambridge during a busy vacation week for Burlington.
Burlington High School had teams in action Thursday, Friday, and Saturday during the April vacation week.
Boys' lacrosse opened Thursday with a 12-7 win over Swampscott, moving to 6-3.
On Friday, the baseball team won 9-5 at Wilmington. The team turned around to play again on Sunday, falling 7-8 to Cambridge Rindge & Latin in eight innings at Francis Wyman Field, falling to 3-6.
Softball lost to Wilmington 1-12 on Friday and to Woburn 3-6 on Saturday, falling to 2-7 on the season by week's end.
In track & field, eight Burlington pentathletes competed at St. John's Prep, with Sekandi finishing 2nd, Brooks 3rd, Conte 4th, Sheehan 7th, Bageine 8th, Fernandes 10th, Teguia 12th, and Alba 15th.
Girls' lacrosse fell 3-17 at Bedford on Saturday, dropping to 4-6 overall.
