Boys’ Hockey Skates Past Melrose, Red Devils Hoops Hit the Road
Burlington boys’ hockey earned a strong win over Melrose, while girls’ hockey battled to overtime and wrestling faced a tough test midweek.
The Red Devils were back in action Wednesday night, highlighted by a strong performance on the ice as boys’ hockey continued its momentum. Elsewhere, girls’ hockey pushed Melrose to the brink, and wrestling faced a challenging league matchup.
Boys’ hockey picked up a 5–1 win over Melrose, getting goals from Berardinelli, Tulipano, Robitaille, Ulmschneider, and McElroy in a balanced scoring effort. The Red Devils controlled the pace and pulled away as the game went on. Girls’ hockey was locked in a tight battle with Melrose and came up just short in overtime, falling 2–1. Cicolini scored the lone Burlington goal in a hard-fought effort that stayed close throughout. Boys are now 7-1, and girls are 2-6.
On the mats, wrestling dropped a 62–17 match to Melrose, continuing a demanding stretch of league competition.
Both hockey teams now turn their attention to Saturday, when they’ll face Wakefield as the week wraps up.
