Daily Buzz | Will Burlington Fill Town Meeting Seats in Precincts 6 and 7?

And will Burlington Smoke Shop be granted its permit?

Hello, hello!

Not much capacity for editorializing today, so I’ll just leave you with 2 quick notes:

Author and BHS grad to speak tonight

Stephen Puleo will be speaking to the Historical Society this evening at 7 – he’s a BHS grad and author who’s written several books, and he’s here to talk about his latest, a story of a US warship turned relief vessel during the Irish Famine.

Today in Burlington

There will be more Planning Board interviews today at 5! Also, Town Meeting Members in Precincts 6&7 will be meeting at 6 to fill the vacancies in those precincts ahead of May Town Meeting, which begins next Monday. If you live in these precincts and want to get involved, now’s your chance! Town Meeting is an accessible way to learn more about the way our town works and be involved in the decisions made by and for our fellow residents.

Contact Amy Warfield at the Town Clerk’s office to find out how you can throw your hat into the ring.

  • 6:00 PM – Town Meeting Members PCT 6 & 7 meet in the hopes of appointing members to our vacant seats. (Join via Webex)
  • 6-9 PM – Cinco de Mayo fundraiser at the Archer Hotel to benefit Skate for the 22 foundation
  • 7:00 PM – Planning Board meets for a vote regarding the proposed smoke shop in the strip on Cambridge Street where Cambridge Savings Bank used to be and for some public hearings regarding special permit requests, mostly at 22 Terry Ave.   (Join via WebEx)

See you tomorrow, friends! I should have more stamina then.
