Daily Buzz | Meet and Converse with Neighbors at This Month’s Community Meal

And, enjoy the last month of summer before it melts away

Good Day, Burlington!

A question to start your day: How did it happen that today is July 27? I can’t deal. School starts on August 29, did you know that? Just over a month and the grind starts right back up again.

Except for those of us for whom the grind never stops. We’ll just keep going like normal, except not as sweaty.

Anyway, I didn’t end up being able to attend Board of Health last night, and I haven’t had time to watch back, either. So nothing to report yet. Also, I just saw that the Land Use Committee was canceled. Sorry for the nothingburger!

Today in Burlington

Aside from the weather being noticeably less murderous, a few items of note in Burlington today:

  • 3:00 PM – Board of Health Subcommittee Meeting – the agenda just says “Faculty Subcommittee,” and my brain is whispering to me that I had a conversation with Chair Ed Weiner during the campaign during which this word was mentioned, and if it’s what I think it is, I’m super excited. More to come after I talk to Dr. Ed.
  • 5:30 PM – Community Dinner at the Presbyterian Church – all are welcome to this opportunity to converse with and get to know our neighbors. Meat and veg options will be served.
  • 6:00 PM – Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Committee will discuss the DEIC performance evaluation as well as the next quarterly report that will be delivered to the Select Board. They will also discuss an item that has been on the agenda for a long time but still hasn’t yet been firmed up: a date for the Select Board + DEIC Leaders Program. (Join via webex)
  • 7:30 PM – Shawsheen Policy Subcommittee meets to discuss the admissions policy and the policy manual.

And with that, another day in Burlington is gone. I hope you enjoy it. See you tomorrow,

Nicci
