I have some postponements to share today.
Due to the expected rain, the Beer Garden scheduled for tonight has been rescheduled for 10/6. Also, the public hearing to discuss our upcoming contract renewal with Republic (our waste collection service) has been postponed to 10/24. I’ll be sure and remind you before the date.
Again, the options that have been presented are:
Stop collecting yard waste curbside.
Move recycling collection to every two weeks.
Move to multi-day collection.
Begin charging households a fee.
If you have questions or thoughts about this, be sure to keep this new meeting date on your calendar so you can ask questions and provide input.
I did learn yesterday that large recycling barrels are available for order from the DPW, though. Just call them at 781-270-1670.
Activity is waning for the week, especially since the hit social event of the season has been postponed.

7:00 PM - Conservation Commission has a few applications to discuss today - two are for demolishing the old D’Angelo building and the Shell Station on Middlesex Turnpike and rebuilding a new gas station/convenience store. The other two are for residential projects.
Our golfers tied in Belmont with a score of 36-36. Varsity and JV Field Hockey teams lost in Watertown with scores of 7-0 and 2-1, respectively. Our Freshman boys fell to Watertown in soccer, too, by a score of 5-0.
Volleyball is on the road in Melrose today, with Freshman and JV girls playing at 4:00 and Varsity girls playing at 5:30.
That’s all for now. Have a great day, and I’ll be back in your inbox tomorrow!
