Wrestling Pins Malden Catholic as Girls’ Hockey Earns First Win
Wrestling cruised past Malden Catholic, girls’ hockey earned their first win of the season, and boys’ hockey fought hard but fell short
Burlington teams were busy Wednesday night, with wrestling delivering a dominant league victory and girls’ hockey celebrating a win, while boys’ hockey battled with Arlington but came up short.
The wrestling team powered past Malden Catholic by a score of 58–15, improving to 2–2 on the season following their 1-2 performance at Saturday's quad meet. Pins came from Shvartsman, Thulasimuhuntha (first varsity victory), Abreu, Bonnell, Tasiopoulos, Leavitt, and Murphy (first varsity victory), while Gong added a major decision. McElroy and Tonani picked up wins by forfeit.
Girls’ hockey picked up its first win of the season with a strong all-around effort. Kocur and Cleary provided the scoring, and Brindle earned a shutout in net.
Boys’ hockey fell 3–1 at Arlington despite 25 saves from MacLeod, with Griffin scoring the Red Devils' single goal – his first as a varsity player.
