Woburn/Burlington Swim Tops Wakefield; Jr. Red Devils Earn Big Win

Burlington teams were in action across multiple sports Wednesday, highlighted by a strong showing in the pool.

The Woburn/Burlington co-op swim team defeated Wakefield 98–71, bringing their record to 1-1. Sadie Floyd qualified for Sectionals in the 200 Freestyle and States in the 100 Freestyle, while several teammates posted season-best improvements across events.

The boys’ varsity soccer team fell 3-0 to Wakefield, showing solid ball movement but looking to improve in the air. The JV team won their game 1-0. Girls’ results were not yet posted at press time.

Reading topped Burlington 46-26 at Meadow Brook Golf Club, with six Rockets shooting under 40. Evan Brothers paced the Devils with a 39 and a 6-3 win. Their new record is 2-3.

The Jr. Red Devils middle school football team rolled to a 32-0 win over Concord, dominating in all three phases and bringing their record to 2-0. They’ll host Melrose next week.
