Soccer Programs Both Win on Town Night; Golf Falls to Reading
Boys' soccer shuts out Whittier 8–0 on a festive Soccer Night and girls' soccer tops Arlington Catholic.
Burlington's soccer programs picked up wins Friday while boys' golf dropped a tough match to Reading.
Boys' soccer shut out Whittier Regional 8–0 on Soccer Night, highlighted by a halftime appearance from New England Revolution player Christiano Oliveira. The Burlington Youth Soccer Association organized the walkout and halftime festivities for what the program called a great night for the entire Burlington soccer community.
Girls' soccer topped Arlington Catholic 4–1, highlighted by a strong performance by Elise.
Boys' golf fell to Reading 47–25. Evan Brothers and Wyatt Condon led Burlington with rounds of 36 and 38, but Reading's lineup — including a 32 from their seventh player — proved too strong.
Burlington has a full slate at home today. Girls' field hockey hosts Arlington at 4:15, with JV to follow at 5:30. Girls' volleyball also hosts Arlington, with freshman and JV at 4:15 and varsity at 5:30. Freshman boys' and girls' soccer play Lexington at 4:15. Varsity girls' soccer hosts Arlington at 4:15.
