Baseball and Softball Cruise Past Winchester, Volleyball Edges Arlington as Burlington Wins Three Monday
Burlington baseball, softball, and boys' volleyball all won Monday while both tennis teams fell to Winchester. Boys' and girls' lacrosse face Woburn Tuesday.
Burlington's bats were busy on Monday, with baseball and softball both topping Winchester while boys' volleyball survived a tight road match at Arlington. The tennis programs weren't as fortunate, dropping both varsity matches to a formidable Winchester squad.
Baseball traveled to Winchester HS Ciarcia Field and came away with a 6–2 win, moving the Red Devils to 7–8 on the season. It was a clean, confident victory against a Winchester team sitting at 12–3.
Softball put on an even bigger show at Marvin Field, blasting Winchester 13–9 to improve to 4–10.
Boys' volleyball delivered a gritty 3–2 win over Arlington on the road, pushing the Red Devils above .500 to 8–7. Arlington came in at 10–6 and made Burlington work for every set.
Girls' tennis fell 5-0 to an undefeated Winchester squad; the boys also couldn't find a breakthrough at Winchester's Packer Courts, losing 4–1 to fall to 7–8.
