Weekly Buzz | Saheli 5k for Domestic Violence Prevention Coming Up This Weekend

Plus, fill the stands at Varsity Field for Soccer Night

Good Morning, Burlington!

There is still time to register for the Library’s virtual program for this afternoon, Off With Their Heads! Art of the French Revolution.

This Saturday, Saheli will be sponsoring the “Be Her Warrior” 5k for domestic violence awareness and prevention. From Saheli:

Domestic violence happens behind closed doors – irrespective of education and wealth status; and women suffer in silence. Recent global prevalence figures indicate that about 1 in 4 women worldwide have experienced domestic violence and 1 in 3 have faced either physical and/or sexual violence in their lifetime.

This year alone, Saheli has supported over 300 survivors of domestic violence with police and legal advocacy, placing them in safe homes and assisting them to be economically and financially empowered. Join team Saheli and ‘BE HER WARRIOR’.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
