The Sculpture Park Committee is pleased to announce its first event of 2023. The park will host a “Sketch A Sculpture” event and contest on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the park from 10 am to 12 pm. (Rain Date: Sunday, June 4, at the same time.)
Attendees will be invited to sketch their favorite sculpture. All materials will be provided by the Burlington High School Art Department, along with expert guidance from Burlington High School art students. This family-friendly event is open to all ages.
There will be four categories for entries: pre-school, elementary school, middle school and high school plus. Entries will be judged by the Sculpture Park Committee, and winners will receive a $25 gift certificate to Schoolhouse Ice Cream, donated by Brenda Rappaport, Realtor with Showcase of Homes Realtors. Additional prizes will be available for runners-up.
Participants can take their artwork home with them that day, or can choose to have their drawings displayed at the Burlington Public Library for the month of June. Entries should be picked up by the artists at the library by June 30, 2023.
Complimentary refreshments will be provided by Wegmans of Burlington.
The Burlington Sculpture Park is an arts project of the Town of Burlington, Massachusetts. The park is located on Center Street between the Grandview Farm and the Burlington Police Station.
