Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Massachusetts Welcomes Burlington Builder Susan Kadilak into 2023 Executive Committee

Legends of the Industry Awards also Announced

WALTHAM, Mass. (Nov. 9, 2022) – The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Massachusetts (HBRAMA) ushered in its 2023 Executive Committee at the organization’s 62nd Annual Installation and Awards Ceremony on Nov. 12 at The Barn at Gibbet Hill in Groton.

The incoming slate of officers is led by President Jeffrey Brem and includes President-Elect Michael Duffany, 1st Vice President David O’Sullivan, Vice President/Secretary/Treasurer Susan Kadilak and Immediate Past President Emerson Clauss III.

“I am excited for this opportunity to lead an association that has helped me so much in my professional life, at a time when the need for housing has never been greater,” Brem said.  “My focus will be on growing the association’s brand, recognition and standing, where being an HBRAMA member will indicate a homebuilder or remodeler is perceived at the highest level.”

Brem is president of Meisner Brem Corp., a multi-disciplined, highly diversified planning, civil engineering and land surveying firm with offices in Westford and Salem, N.H.  He is also the owner of Westford-based home builder Quality Green Homes.  Brem is a 30-plus-year member of HBRAMA regional affiliate, the Northeast Builders and Remodelers Association.

Duffany is president of M. Duffany Builders, a family-owned and -operated construction company in Falmouth that has grown from two to 30-plus employees since it started in 1983.  He is a member of HBRAMA affiliate Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Cape Cod.

O’Sullivan is president of O’Sullivan Architects in Reading.  A graduate of the Boston Architectural College and licensed in six states, O’Sullivan has over 30 years of experience in both residential and commercial design.  He is a past president of the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston affiliate of HBRAMA.

Kadilak is the principal of Kadilak Homes, a design-build firm, and Kadilak Realty Group in Burlington.  She and her husband, Paul, are co-hosts of the Emmy-nominated home renovation show Renovation Rekindle.  Kadilak Homes has built or renovated hundreds of homes in the region.  Kadilak also serves on the Board of Directors of the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston.

Clauss is the president and owner of Allegiance Construction and Development, based in Whitinsville.  He is a past president of the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston.  During his term as HBRAMA president, Clauss was appointed by Gov. Charlie Baker to the state’s Commission on Clean Heat.

The annual meeting and banquet featured guest speaker Alicia Huey, a home builder from Birmingham, Ala., who is the incoming chair of the National Association of Home Builders.  HBRAMA also honored six members with its prestigious Legend of the Industry Award, which was created in 2006 to recognize members across the state who drive change and innovation in the industry and who contribute to their communities.

This year’s award recipients are:

  • Ronald E. Langell Sr. of R&L Remodeling in Westford
  • Bill Laplante of Laplante Construction in East Longmeadow
  • Bob and Rob McPhee of McPhee Associates in East Dennis
  • Paul Sullivan of The Sullivan Company in Newton
