Donate New Items & Gift Cards to Help Local Families This Winter

Local families could use your help

Hello, Burlington!

Better late than never, right? As I’m putting the finishing touches on my recovery from the plague, I wanted to take a few minutes to tell you about an amazing new local charity that needs our help this season.

Wee Care Burlington officially opened its doors this summer, but the project has been going on unofficially since 2020 when founder, Donna Russo, saw a need in our community and decided to do something about it. Anyone who spends time in our local Facebook groups has likely seen Donna around, matching gently used items with local families who can use them. Now, after two years, Wee Care Burlington has non-profit status and has taken up residence in the space at St. Mark’s vacated when People Helping People moved to their new location.

Wee Care has a plethora of items for babies, toddlers, and families—from clothes to bathing suits to toys and books and pretty much anything else you could imagine—and is open by appointment for families to come take what they need.

For this season, though, the organization is looking for gift cards or new, unopened items to give to families. Browse through the list below to see if there’s anything you can help out with. Also, if you’re interested in making a monetary donation, or know a person or organization who is, that outside funding would help Wee Care buy items at a deep discount.

That’s all for today. I have heard whispers of an event on the Common this weekend, but I see nothing on the Town website, so I’ll update you when I know more.

Here are those lists. Have a great day!
