Hello, Burlington!

There is nothing on the Town agenda today. So I will keep this ultra-brief and leave you with sports and jokes and a few notices for upcoming dates. Enjoy!

Don’t forget about Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day tomorrow at Francis Wyman from 8:30-12 and Truck Day on Sunday on the Common from 10-2.

And!

There will be a Sensory Friendly Truck Day tonight from 6-7 for those of us who prefer to enjoy the trucks without the flashing lights and loud noises.

Also!

There is a vacancy on Town Meeting for Precinct 7. Seats in this precinct seem to be very hard to fill, so if you live three and are committed to representing your neighbors at Town Meeting, please contact Town Clerk Amy Warfield. Not sure whether or not you’re in Precinct 7? Check out our precinct map. Precinct 6 is the southern end of town - roughly, either side of Middlesex Turnpike near our border with Lexington and south of 128 near Woburn.

Finally!

School Committee will be meeting on Tuesday. They just met this week, and usually they skip a week in between, but since 9/27 falls during Rosh Hashanah, they’ve moved the meeting up. Town Meeting will also be starting on a Wednesday this September (9/28) for the same reason. By the way, the warrant for the September 18 Town Meeting is set and can be found on our Town Clerk’s website, along with the backup (supporting documentation).

Our Varsity Field Hockey Girls fell to Lexington 3-1, while the Freshman ended up down 1-0. In soccer, our Freshman boys finished down 1-0.

I missed the swim meet results yesterday. Unfortunately our Varsity girls lost to Stoneham 87-80.

I got this from a fellow kindergarten teacher (yes, I did that, too, in the days of yore) and mom. I have to say, after almost 2 decades of teaching and then parenting, I was uptight about this until my third kid and now I just don’t have the energy to care anymore. They’ve finally broken me. 😂 Race to purple-brown, anyone?
