Daily Buzz | Residents Can Now Opt Into Curbside Compost Collection
Also, Planning Board to collaborate with other Town committees on September Town Meeting articles
Good Morning,
As mentioned briefly after Monday’s Select Board meeting, Burlington has partnered with Black Earth to initiate an elective curbside compost collection program. You might have seen the cute green mini-toters along the road at some homes in Burlington, because many residents already use Black Earth’s collection service privately. The details:
$39 will get you a starter kit with a 13-gallon toter with 15 of its own liners, plus 30 liners for your countertop compost bin.
Currently, the price for bi-weekly pickup is $15.99 monthly or $89.99 every six months.
There is also a weekly pickup option.
These costs go down once more residents sign up; the next tier begins when 300 residents are enrolled.
Read about the specific items collected, why the town chose Black Earth as a partner, and more, at the town website and at the press release below. And, when you’re ready, sign up.
