Pop-Up Retail Comes to Burlington’s 3rd Avenue

Tonight, the Select Board is expected to reopen the public hearing regarding the proposed Winn View Heights II development in the Winnmere area of Burlington. Opponents of this project have come to speak at Select Board meetings a couple of times in the last several months, and the Board voted 2-1-1 (with one member being absent) not to provide a letter of the support for this project.

That one absence is the reason the proponents have requested the Board reconsider the proposal. However, a request for postponement has been issued because it appears that a  couple of bylaws were not followed when posting for this hearing. Namely, the requirement for notice of this kind of public hearing to be posted 14 days ahead of time and for detailed information to be sent to various town Boards and the abutters.

I don’t have official word yet, but it’s possible this public hearing will be postponed. Stay tuned to Facebook for more information; I’ll post there as soon as I know.
