Daily Buzz | May 2022 Town Meeting Night 1 Highlights

Written with one thumb from the bed of a toddler because that’s how my night went

Hello!

I’m here after a long and informative night at Town Meeting. We passed the $170,000,000 operating budget, the revolving fund caps, and the first 13 capital articles. Many were held for further discussion, which will continue Wednesday at 7:00 PM. (This is a new time going forward.)

The Highlights

As I mentioned, we voted to pass the town’s $170 million operating budget, which funds the government and its departments, including personnel. Here are a few more highlights:

  • Francis Wyman will be getting a new playground.
  • The Fire department will get a new communications system.
  • The Route 3A Transportation Study will move forward

And much more!

Check Twitter for some more highlights and reference the Warrant summary for more info on individual articles, including which were held for discussion before being passed.

I could use a coffee after a late night; if you’re so inclined, feel free to press that button. ⬇
