Daily Buzz | Low-Cost ServSafe Course Begins This Week

And, Select Board to continue discussion of alcohol policy

Good morning, Burlington!

I must have been in denial about the time change, because I didn’t mention it once last week and only fully realized it was coming on Friday evening. Sorry about that. I’m sure we’re all feeling it today, as the clock says 6 and our bodies say 5. But we’ll adapt—we always do! Maybe one day the madness will stop, but it’s been discussed for so many decades I don’t have much hope for daylight savings to end anytime soon.

Two things I forgot to add to the Weekly Buzz:

  • The Board of Health is offering a reduced-cost ServSafe Certified Food Protection Manager course & exam this Wednesday and next Wednesday from 2:15-6:30. The cost of the program is only $63.31, and you must attend both sessions. This is a great opportunity to have your managers, supervisors, and shift leaders certified at a low cost! For more information, please contact the Board of Health at boh@burlington.org or 781-270-1955.

  • After-school tutoring will continue to be offered this week at The Reserve in Burlington. These free sessions serve mostly elementary- and middle-school-aged kids, but high school kids are welcome, too. Email Kim Holt for more information or to sign up your student.
