Good Morning, Burlington!

Next month, Burlington will be hosting an interactive community design process to help develop a new land use framework for the area’s largest commercial district. The design process, also referred to as a “charrette,” invites the public to participate in a multi-day workshop that will lay out the strengths and weaknesses for the area, and collaborate to create a roadmap for sustainable growth.

This is a continuation of the process begun in 2020, whereby the town (and later, the design firm hired by the town) are taking a look at the Mall Road-Middlesex Turnpike corridor to see how we can “set the stage for the next generation of growth,” according to Economic Development Director, Melisa Tintocalis. The ED office is eager to collaborate with members of the community “to find the sweet spot that balances community goals and financially viable development.”
