Daily Buzz | Debate Tonight!

And some upcoming events

Hello, Burlington, and welcome to the second half of the week!

Debate! Tonight!

First things first, I want to highly recommend you watch the BCAT debate. Producer Chris Flaherty and I will be asking questions to the School Committee and Board of Health candidates tonight, and the debate will be available on YouTube starting tomorrow (3/25) and on BCAT starting Monday. Thanks to those of you who sent in questions. (There were a lot of you!) I have a cache built up and will ask every single one I have time for!

Once again, this event will be online tomorrow and broadcast on BCAT starting Monday and continuing until the election.

Have you read the profiles of the candidates yet? In case you haven’t, you should check them out on the Burlington Equity Coalition Candidate Guide, the BCAT profiles, and right here:

Other Items of Interest

I just released a new podcast. It’s short and sweet, but it’s also designed to get you quick answers to some common questions about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Paid subscribers can listen here! If you’re interested in converting from free to paid, feel free to do so by just tapping that little red button. Isn’t it cute?

Don’t forget about the IAB Meet & Greet this Sunday at the library. I attended the virtual version of this last year and learned a lot about the candidates. I can only expect this will be even better, because we’ll be able to actually interact with people in person!

Also don’t forget to check candidate websites for upcoming events – there are several!

And, just when I thought our town couldn’t get any cooler, the Historical Society is hosting a Burlington Trivia Night on April 7th at 7, where the questions will be specific to Burlington History! IDK about you, but trivia is my JAM! I’m going to study the Robert Costa book I picked up from CVS to help me prepare.

Today in Burlington

Light day today, and even lighter tomorrow. Of course, you know that doesn’t mean I’ll have nothing to say.

  • 10:00 AM – Ways & Means Subcommittee meets to discuss the MIS budget.
  • 6:00 PM – Ways & Means Subcommittee meets to discuss the School Department budget.
  • 7:00 PM – Conservation Commission meets for their regular meeting, including continuing the discussion of the proposed changes to the stormwater bylaw. (Join via Webex)
  • 6:00-8:00 PM – BCAT Debates! School Committee and Board of Health Candidates chat on the BCAT stage with a few of us from local media.

Enjoy your Thursday, and I’ll see you tomorrow!
