Who Makes Burlington Work? Nominate a Neighbor
If someone in Burlington has ever made your life easier, safer, kinder, or more connected, we want to hear about them.
Every day, Burlington works because people show up.
While some of the people who keep Burlington buzzing have official titles, many do not. They’re the neighbors who volunteer quietly, check in on others, run programs, and help behind the scenes to make this town and its residents feel more connected and cared for.
As part of this year’s Civic Expo, we’re launching a new community recognition project called Who Makes Burlington Work — an invitation for residents to nominate someone who makes a difference in our town.
The idea is simple:
If someone in Burlington has ever made your life easier, safer, kinder, or more connected, we want to hear about them.
Nominees might be volunteers, caregivers, coaches, organizers, veterans, parents, advocates, or neighbors who never expect recognition but deserve it all the same. There’s no single definition of what “counts” — if their contribution matters to you, it matters to us.
Nominations are open now and will remain open after the Civic Expo. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing stories and recognizing community members who help make Burlington work every day.
If someone came to mind as you read this, please take a moment to nominate them. A few sentences are all it takes.
Nominate a neighbor using this short form.
Because towns don’t run on systems alone — they run on people. And we can't wait to meet more people who make a difference right here in Burlington.
