And, proceed with caution on icy surfaces this morning

Good Morning, Neighbor!

Snow cleanup seemed to be swift and effective yesterday, aided by sunshine early in the day. But be careful on the roads and paved surfaces today. Freezing temperatures overnight likely froze the melty bits, so be sure wherever you’re walking/running/driving isn’t a skating rink before you venture out, and keep an eye out for black ice.

You might have heard about the Burlington Buzz Guide to Winter. Published in mid-November, this helpful guide contains a wealth of information, reader stories, and special offers to enrich your life in Burlington this season. From reader Liz’s story about giving birth in a blizzard and Conservation Administrator John Keeley’s article on where you can enjoy yourself out in nature this winter, to the holiday calendar and list of important phone numbers, hundreds of you have come back to this resource again and again.

We’re so excited to announce that we’re gearing up for our Spring/Summer Guide, and it’s going to be even bigger, better, and more entertaining than its cousin. The outline is taking shape, and we’re excited about the resources we’ll be offering: outdoor dining and recreation, indoor fun, gardening and home care tips, and more.

If you’ve ever wanted to be featured in a magazine-style publication, this is your chance. We’re seeking reader contributions in the following areas:

  • Spring/Summer Recipes
  • Gardening tips
  • Favorite nearby places to go during the spring and summer
  • Favorite businesses to support in the spring and summer
  • Favorite memories from the season, including activities and things to do
  • Spring cleaning project ideas and places to donate gently used items
  • Anything else you think would make interesting seasonal reading

To submit your story, either reply to this email or send us a note at hello@burlington.buzz. We’ll let you know in March if your story has been chosen for the guide. Thank you for helping us build this community-centered publication!
