Daily Buzz | Hands Up If You Know What Governor's Council Is

Good morning!

Before we get into today, I want to give you an opportunity to take our poll if you haven’t already. As I’ve been interviewing primary candidates, it has come to my attention that we have this thing called Governor’s Council here in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I hadn’t heard of it; have you? I’ll write more about it on Saturday, when paid subscribers get a sneak peek at the interviews with candidates Marilyn Petitto Devaney and Mara Dolan, but for now, let me know if you know what the Governor’s Council is, or what “Councilor” means on your state ballot. Here’s the link to the poll one more time.

Today in Burlington

Another quiet summer day here, though I would like to share that with their 8-3 win over Weymouth, our U12 baseball players have advanced Friday’s 5:30 championship game!

  • 3:00 PM - Board of Health Subcommittee meets to make some revisions to our BOH regulations regarding smoking and the sale of tobacco products. (Join via Webex)

  • 6:30 PM - Transportation Subcommittee meets and will discuss, among other things, a lot of the things that have been discussed around town in the last few months:

    • 128 Business Council Transportation Regionalization Plan

    • Safe Routes to School

    • MBTA Bus Network redesign

    • High School Transportation Survey

That’s it on my end. I’m back to editing podcasts so I can get a new one out to you soon!

Have a great day, Burlington,

Nicci
