Daily Buzz | Primary Election Day

Gooooood Morning, Burlingtonnnnnn!

I expected to tell you how useless I’m going to be today, but in fact I got almost 8 hours of sleep last night and woke up at the usual time and, aside from feeling like the world is rocking underneath me, I’m feeling pretty good. If you want to know how my trip was, what I did, what I learned, who I met, where I stayed, and how it went for me professionally, now is a great time to subscribe to my author newsletter. Like this one, it’s free with the option to pay to support my creative work. Unlike this one, it only comes once a week. I’ll probably be exploring the lessons I learned at the York Festival of Writing - about life and the craft of writing - for the next several weeks.

Primary Election Day

The election, as you hopefully know, is today. Which means today is your last chance to make a decision about which Democratic or Republican candidate will head to the general election in November.

If you’re voting in the Republican Primary, your ballot will be quite short. It looks like, for Burlington, there are only contested races at the Governor and Lieutenant Governor levels.

The Democratic Primary, on the other hand, has a number of contested races - in fact, five out of the six statewide races are contested. I haven’t interviewed any of the statewide candidates, but as you probably know I did interview the candidates for contested office within our State Representative and Governor’s Council (seen simply as Councillor on the ballot) districts.

Here’s all my info on the candidates.

Here’s BCAT’s awesome election coverage.

You’ll probably want to look for a resource to help you learn about the statewide candidates if you haven’t done so already.

Alright, that’s it for me. I need to get up and walk around so things stop feeling like they’re swaying from side to side.

Buzz, buzz, my friends!

Nicci
